The death has occured of Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Mrs. Alaba Lawson.
Iyalode Lawson who was also the Iyalode of Egbaland, was a past president of Abeokuta Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ABEOCCIMA) and Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), an organisation for all Nigerian state and related Chambers of Commerce of Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary ABEOCCIMA, R.O.Maku disclosed this in a statement issued today.
He said the highly respected business magnate died in the early hours of today.
The statement is reproduced below:
“W regret to announce the demise of NACCIMA past President & ABEOCCIMA Matron/ Chairman, Board of Trustees, Iyalode Alabama Lawson, MFR, F.IoD, JP (Iyalode of Yorubaland) which occured in the early hours of today, Saturday, 28th October, 2023.
Burial arrangement to be announced later by the family.
“May God almighty God almighty grant repose to soul of Iyalode. Amen."
