Torrents of tributes on Monday flowed at the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) as members of the church from different parts of the world converged at Ikotun, a suburb of Lagos for the 60th post humours birthday of the founder, Prophet T.B. Joshua.
The church came alive in celebration and testimonies, as members, led by Prophet T.B. Joshua’s widow and overseer of the church, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, gathered to celebrate the late founder’s posthumous birthday.
The worshippers and adherents came from South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, Ghana, Poland, Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique, United States of America (USA), United Kingdom(UK), Ireland, Botswana, India, Kenya, Russia, Australia, Ghana, South Africa, Belgium, Togo, Benin Republic, Zimbabwe among other countries
They all flew into Lagos to show love and shower encomiums, deliver goodwill messages and testimonies concerning the late Prophet TB Joshua.
The epoch making event held two years after the demise of Pastor T.B Joshua and as usual, the ambience of the church was magical and electrifying.
He brought life to my life
One of the members of the church from the United States (US), Kinnack Emmanuel, said he came to celebrate the life of the prophet.
He said he travelled to Lagos because T.B. Joshua "brought light to my life."
Emmanuel, who is one of the benefactors of Emmanuel TV told the story of how he found Jesus.
According to him: “I received Jesus from Emmanuel TV. The prophet was more than a prophet, he was a teacher, coach, pastor and friend to everybody.
“June 12 is a special day on my calendar because that is the day we celebrate a great gift the Lord gives the world.
“I believe he is here with us and he will always bless us, we miss him so much.”
A man worthy of emulating
Founder and Senior Pastor of Champion Royal Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla, commended the prophet, saying he was the greatest prophet of all time.
Iginla noted that the late Prophet took spiritual bullets for many people and stood his ground.
He also noted that he was one man of God who was unshaken by actions and words of other reverends and prophets but continue to forge on with the work of God. He ignored them all.
“We are not only celebrating a man who preaches but a man who has a spirit of love and he is a legend,” Iginla added.
A gift to mankind, humanity
He said the late TB Joshua was a gift to mankind and humanity. He described him as ‘firstborn among the prophets who took the bullet for so many of us’.
Iginla noted that although he was tried and persecuted, the late Joshua remained focused and displayed maturity in the way he comported himself. ‘He was a man worthy of emulating’, Iginla added
Greatest prophet of all time
Prophet Iginla also commended the prophet, saying he was the greatest prophet of all time.
“We are not only celebrating a man who preaches but a man who has a spirit of love and he is a legend,” Iginla added.
In charity, he had no classmate
Founder of Temple of Light and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Isaiah Ogedegbe, eulogised the life of TB Joshua, saying: "in charity, he had no classmate and I believe in the grace of God upon his life.
“He was a mentor to nations, bishops and pastors and, in his humility, he affected the world. He was a man of prayer like David,” Ogedegbe said.
He commended the wife of the Prophet, Pastor Evelyn Joshua for keeping the church together as one
since the demise of her husband.
He commended other prophets for their commitment in moving the church from glory to greater glory.
He contended that Prophet T.B Joshua was a man of God who can never be forgotten.
Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli, a popular flutist, said: "TB Joshua taught me to stay humble, give and believe in God and in the Lord Jesus. He was a wonder to many. TB Joshua still blesses us from heaven. He is part of our lives and we all miss him every day’.
The high moment was when a Russian member said she was representing Russia, the Ukraine and Germany.
Her short address drew huge applause, as it underlined the love the late founder preached across the world.
The guests were treated to classical and traditional gospel music and drama performances, alongside children choreography
The ceremony also included the cutting of the posthumous birthday cake.
Prophet TB Joshua, also known as the ‘Man in the Synagogue’, died on June 5, 2021, shortly after a church service in his honour at the SCOAN, Ikotun, Lagos.
