Barely few hours after his suspension, the Department of State Security Services (DSS) has arrested the sacked Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
The DSS had accused Emefiele of allleged involvement in various acts of terrorism financing, economic crimes of national security dimension and “gargantuan fraud" amongst others.
Other allegations against the suspended CBN governor, following preliminary investigations by the DSS, were also contained in the security reports submitted by the secret police to the immediate past President Mohammadu Buhari.
But the apex bank boss severally shunned invitations by the DSS for questioning, hiding under a purported “Presidential Order” from former President Buhari.
This made it possible to insulate himself and other top CBN chiefs from any probe by the secret police and others.
