The entire Ijebuland has lost a collosus and a great business magnate to the hands of death as Otunba Subomi Balogun dies at 89.
The Otunba Tuwase of Ijebuland and founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) died on Friday in a London Hospital.
The late businessman celebrated his 89th birthday in March.
An alumnus of Igbobi College, Balogun was a lawyer and studied law at the London School of Economics.
Until his death, Otunba Subomi Balogun was the Olori Ebi of Funsengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu Ode.
Some of the great kings of Ijebuland that have come out of the family included Awujale Jadiara, Awujale Tuwase, Awujale Funsengbuwa. The family also produced Dagburewe of Idowa, Gbegande of Ososa, Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye, Moyegeso of Itele among others.
He was 'Olori awon Omo Oba' and 'Olori awon Otunba' of Ijebu Ode.
