Ogun CP, Frank Mba

The Ogun State Police Command has said that there will be 
restriction of human and vehicular movements on the roads and waterways across the state in view of the Presidential and National Assembly elections holding tomorrow,  Saturday, February 25,, 2023.

The Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba said  that  restriction of human and vehicular movement will start as from 12 midnight to 6:00p.m of February 25, 2023.

The Ogun State Command spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said  the restriction of movement is in line with the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alikali Baba, and that it is aimed at ensuring peaceful conduct of the election.

The statement stated that security aides attached to public office holders are not allowed to escort their principals to polling stations and collation centres armed.
It further stated that  no state-owned security outfit will be allowed to participate in providing security during the conduct of the election.

CP Frank Mba urged the law abiding citizens of the state to go out en masse and cast their vote for the candidate of their choice.

He assured that  robust security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the election is conducted under a very peaceful atmosphere.

The command spokesperson also advised citizens to contact the joint operation room through any of the following numbers if anything capable of disrupting the election is noticed in their areas.
